Lavender, Wendy Yvonne
Obituary
Wendy Yvonne Lavender passed away on December 7, 2015 in Dallas, Texas due to injuries sustained in a fall while traveling in Italy. She will always be remembered as a generous, compassionate, and ever-present daughter, sister, aunt, and brilliant young woman.
Born November 29, 1969 in Decatur, Alabama to Claud Wilson Lavender and Mary Yvonne Sidebotham Lavender, she graduated from Highland Park High School in 1988 and from Louisiana State University in 1991, adding a Masters degree in English from Southwest Texas State University. She soon fulfilled her dream of moving to New York City and began her career in the emerging market of internet advertising. She joined CDMiConnect LLC, a division of Omnicom Marketing and Communications in 2001 and rose to the position of Associate Partner, Director of Interactive Marketing.
At every turn in life, Wendy Yvonne contributed excellence and a joy in relationships. Her family was always a primary focus for her, and every member felt her presence. Time spent with Wilson and Ally, nephew and niece, in New York and Dallas was especially important to her. Traveling the world was a passion and she visited almost every continent. In her career, she made unique contributions of capability, mentoring, and success. A gourmet cook, she entertained family and friends with ease and elegance, effortlessly hosting every holiday meal and many exquisite evenings in her New York home. A very independent woman, she had definite ideas, strong opinions, a personal elegance, and the most open and loving heart.
Survivors include her mother, Mary, and father, Claud, her sisters, Jennifer and Margie, Margie’s husband, Morgen, and Wilson and Ally, her treasures.
