Giannopoulos, Lisa Marie (Taylor)
Obituary
Lisa “Taylor” Giannopoulos May 6, 1970 – August 1, 2021 Lisa Taylor Giannopoulos of Plano, TX passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Methodist Hospital unexpectedly after a brief illness. Lisa was a native Dallasite born on May 6, 1970 at Baylor Hospital. Lisa graduated from Richardson High School and went on to the Art Institute of Dallas where she received a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. While working her part-time job, she met Spiro Giannopoulos and were married in August 1992. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Plano. In 1994, their son Konstantine “Kosta” was born and in 1997 Nikolas was born. The boys were the light of their lives. Early in their marriage, they opened their first restaurant, Spiro’s, in Plano and later “Gio’s” in Dallas. Both Lisa and Spiro knew many people in the restaurant industry. Many of the people they met along the way became longtime friends. Lisa had the gift of making people smile. She could put a smile on your face with one of her many stories. She was an avid reader. There were occasions when she would be reading more than one book at a time, one at home and one would be in her purse. She enjoyed movies and be one of the first to see a newly released feature. Musicals were high on her list as well. She enjoyed flower designs and often made floral arrangements for friends and customers as gifts. The best gift of all was her sense of friendship and loyalty. If you were in her circle of friends, you were a friend for life. Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Spiro. She is survived by her sons, Kosta and Nikolas; father and stepmother, Darlene and Bill Taylor of Doyle, TN; mother, Teri Taylor of Frisco, TX; siblings, Jalaa and Phillip Taylor of Broken Arrow, OK, Katrina and Marcus Taylor of Trophy Club, TX, Rob and Patricia Matthews of London, ENG, Kelly and Alan Toon of Little Elm, TX; sister-in-law and husband, Tessie and Tommy Anderson of Lucas, TX, and numerous nephews and nieces; her aunt and uncle, Tina Bell and Kevin O’Keefe of Little Elm, TX; and too many cousins to name. She will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, with a Memorial Service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, at Prestonwood Country Club located at 15909 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75248. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tails from The Heart. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
