Obituary

Our beloved, Terry Gene Braudrick, passed peacefully at age 68 in Frisco, Texas on October 3, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born to Billy Gene Braudrick and Shirley Marie Fulton on December 24, 1952 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Terry served in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War, was a member of the Honor Guard, and a Law Enforcement Officer at Hickam Air Force Base and Bellows Air Force Base in Hawaii. During his time in Hawaii, he met the love of his life, Janey Medlen, and they married on June 15, 1974 in High Point, Missouri. Terry and Janey lived in Kailua, Hawaii until 1975 when they moved to Dallas, Texas, where they built a life and raised their children. Terry worked as a Real Estate Developer and Investor on multiple entrepreneurial ventures. He was a founding member and former deacon at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Terry served his community as the President of Bent Tree West Homeowner’s Association for many years and was instrumental in building the Bent Tree West Swim & Tennis Club. He was also a member of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce. Terry was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a kindhearted man with a generous spirit. He loved to laugh, always had a joke for any occasion, and never met a stranger. Terry was known for his love of Texas, Dr. Pepper, Braum’s, post-it notes and animals. His legacy will live on through his wife of 47 years, Janey (Medlen) Braudrick, their three children – Emily Stanton (Douglas), Sarah Braudrick, Grant Braudrick; three grandchildren – Sean Stanton (Meghan), Ella Stanton, Rushel Hawley; great-grandson – Colt Stanton; step-mother – Mickie Hickenbottom (Lewis); siblings – Paul Braudrick and Geni Hutchings (Joey). He was dearly loved by his in-laws, nieces, nephews, and entire extended family. Terry is preceded in death by his loving parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021 at Prestonwood Baptist Church (Faith Chapel) 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093. Terry will be laid to rest at The Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prestonwood Baptist Church or The Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF).   Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

In the late 60’s and early 70’s we Fulton’s would gather at aunt Shirley’s for stinking Sooners and The mighty Longhorn game. Terry was the coolest dude around to Danny and me. Terry worked at six flags as a magician and stuntman. Terry evidently had connections to the OU / TX game. One year he got a football from the game. Terry gave that ball to Danny and I. We probably threw that ball a million billion times the ends of the ball we’re so scuffed up the bladder was only showing on the tips of the ball. If you thought that was the end it is not! My 3 sons and I aired it up and passed it around for years and I got to tell my boys how great a guy my cousin Terry is. Terry I know where you are and will come see you soon!

    Blessed is he…
whose hope is in the Lord his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them – the Lord, who remains faithful forever. Psalm 146:5, 6

As you go through life’s greatest sorrow, the loss of someone you love, may your own faith in God sustain you, bringing you comfort today, courage for tomorrow, and hope in your heart always.

    With deepest sympathy and prayers

Terry and I traveled to Detroit with a group of people for a Conference in 2017. We booked a house online for lodging. When we arrived to the house, we learned that it was located in Bad neighborhood. I remember Terry trying to lighten the mood by telling us jokes for 3 straight days. I am going to miss that guy!

Janey and family, Peggy and I are very saddened about the passing of Terry. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. There were always loads of laughs when he was around. He called me doctor. I called him professor. I am sure he is working on his next deal. Now rest in peace ole friend.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
