Jim Bitner was one of my professors at the University of Texas at Austin. He taught computer science, and I took a fantastic compiler construction course from him. I think it was my favorite course at UT.
Jim was a wonderful, gifted teacher. I never had a finer professor, anywhere, in any subject. I learned so much from him! He was not only a very dedicated teacher, and obviously brilliant, he was also just a really nice person.
After getting my Masters in CS at UT, I moved away, and I lost track of Jim. I am so very, very sorry to hear of his passing.
One of my favorite professors at the University of Texas at Austin. A very brilliant yet a humble individual.
Rest in perfect peace, Doc.
One of the greatest professor and human being I have known. Whatever my career is, he played a huge role in it. You were so caring and considerate always!!! Please Jim, I respected and loved you SO much. I am so sorry to find this news four years after the event. May your soul rest well in peace.
