Alice Daniel
Obituary
Alice Maxine Zoeller Daniel (1930 – 2022) Maxine Daniel was born on August 6, 1930, in Dallas Texas to parents Lula and Bud Zoeller. She was joined very quickly (and unexpectedly) by her twin sister and lifelong best friend Kathryn Merlene. Together they joined older brother William Martin. Within just a few years, the family relocated to Palestine, Texas to be near extended family. After marrying Gene in 1953, the couple, and soon family of five, moved to Beaumont, then Houston, and finally Richardson in 1968, where Maxine and Gene lived until 2016. Maxine graduated from UNT with a degree in Elementary Education in 1970 and had a career teaching in RISD for over 25 years before retiring in the 1990s. She also completed an MLA from SMU and teaching certificate in art history from TWU during her teaching career. Maxine and Gene were faithful and active members of RFBC for all of their years in Richardson and active members of the Pitkin Community Church in Pitkin Colorado too. Maxine departed this life on August 10, 2022, just a few days after celebrating her 92nd birthday with family and is now together again with her beloved Gene. Maxine is survived by her children: daughter Kathryn Daniel of Arlington, son Philip Daniel and wife Martha of New Hope, and son David Daniel, also of Arlington. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Joan Pennington of Houston and grandchildren Rebecca Evans and husband Matthew of Savannah Texas and Zachary Daniel of Waco as well as four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gene Daniel in 2017. She was also preceded in death by both of her siblings and her sister-in-law. Please join us for a celebration of Maxine’s life at First Baptist Church Richardson on September 19 at 11 AM. In liu of flowers, donations may be made in Maxine’s memory to First Baptist Church of Richardson, Alzheimer’s Association, or the Pitkin Community Church in Pitkin, Colorado or your charity of choice.

Maxine was a wonderful, loving individual, always a pleasure to be around. She was truly blessed by her husband, children, family and friends But was , as well, a blessing to all that really knew her. She will be missed. Larry & Lori Daniel
It was such a blessing to know Maxine. She is one of the prettiest ladies that I’ve ever known. Her smile was contagious. My heart goes out to her family. We know that she is happy to be with Gene Paul and her family and friends again. May the Lord comfort you during this time of sorrow.
