Barbara L. Anderson Behrman, age 88, died in Plano, Texas on January 8, 2023.
She was born October 5, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She has lived in Edina, Minnesota, Creve Coeur, Missouri, Greensburg, Pennsylvania, North Olmsted and Cleveland, Ohio, Martinsville, Indiana, and spent the rest of her life in Texas. Cities in Texas included Plano, Richardson, Dallas, Georgetown, and Frisco.
Survivors include her husband, Edward J. Behrman, of 28 years, to whom she was truly devoted with her endless love and adoration; daughters, Julie Ann Kennedy Krause, Lori Louise Kennedy Edwards and husband Jim Edwards, Kelly Jane Kennedy Reich and husband Paul Reich, and son Thomas Walter Kennedy. Grandchildren include Nicole Analiese Krause Quillin and husband Sean Quillin, Warner Joseph Krause and wife Jamie Krause, Blair Julia Reich Krumme and husband Kevin Krumme, Ross Kennedy Reich and wife Chenin Reich, and Blake Thomas Edwards. There are 3 great grandchildren, Charlotte, Carson, and Jane.
Barbara L. Anderson Behrman was preceded in death by her mother, Idelle Anderson, her father J.Ronald Anderson, and her brother, Dennis Anderson, all from Edina, Minnesota.
Barbara spent most of her adult life excelling in her expertise at playing “bridge”( card game) and belonged to many bridge clubs throughout the years, usually winning 1st place. She had a love for crossword puzzles and Jeopardy.
Barbara was also a pianist, starting as a young child, and played continuously throughout her lifetime. Her love for song and remembering every lyric had everyone in amazement. She was a Tri – Delta at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated from Hamlin University. She was an exceptional mother, wife, grandmother, and friend.
Being a mother was what Barbara loved most. The vibrant love she had for her children radiated! She was very proud of each one, always bragging about them to all of her friends; even to her nurses! Her patience, kindness, wisdom, grace, wonderful advice, her beauty within, and her dry sense of humor will carry on through her children, which they will cherish and value for the rest of their lives.
There will be a private family memorial on January 28, 2023.
