Burri, Shannon Lee
Obituary
Shannon Lee (Via) Burri, 56, of Frisco, Texas, went to be with the Lord on December 13th, 2021.
She had a very free spirit, a kind and gentle soul, and a great zest for life. All who truly knew her loved her dearly.
Shannon was born on March 10th, 1965, in Little Rock, Ar to John Via Sr., whom preceded her in death, and Vida Mae Via. She was the first of three children. She was raised in North Little Rock, Ar where she attended Ole Main High School, class of 1983. She attended the University of Central Arkansas on a choir scholarship, and later Arkansas State University for nursing. She worked at Arkansas State Hospital as a psychiatric nurse for 28 years until her retirement in 2016. After retirement she moved to Tulsa, Ok to be near to her son, Jake LaFerney, daughter-in-law Stephanie, and her beloved grandchildren, Alanna and Ryker. She later moved with them to Frisco, Tx.
One of Shannon’s favorite things in life was traveling. She rarely turned down a chance to hit the road to make memories with her friends and family. Shannon was also known for her great love of music. She attended many concerts throughout her life. She also loved reading, gardening, cooking, and maybe most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Shannon had a knack for making lifelong friends and she had many of them. She was loyal, caring, and endearing which drew people to her and bonded them for life.
Shannon is survived by her mother Vida Mae Via of Batesville, Ar, her brother John Via Jr. (Shannon) of North Little Rock, Ar, her sister Cody Via Williams (Chase) of Sherwood, Ar, her son Jake LaFerney (Stephanie), her grandchildren Alanna and Ryker LaFerney of Prosper, Texas, her niece Bailey Via of Nashville, Tn, and her nephews, Chipper Via (Maribelle) of Richmond, Va, Tripp Via of North Little Rock, Ar, and former husband Gary Keen. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Dale Burri.
A celebration of her life will be held on January 8th, 2022 at 12 o’clock at Refuge Church, 201 W 4th Street North Little Rock, Ar 72114.
A reception to follow will be held at Red and Blue Events Venue, 1415 W 7th St, Little Rock, Ar 72201.

Shannon was a bright spot in everyone’s life, who knew her. She was adventurous, never fearing anything, and willing to help anyone down on their luck, including animals. Her co-workers were friends for life, and they had many enjoyable trips together, outside of work. RIP dear niece – you leave breaking hearts, and a large hole in our family. Love and prayers for her immediate family

Cody, I’m so sorry for your loss. She sounds like your kindred spirit – adventurous, a caregiver/nurse, and family minded to name a few. I wish I had known her. We will hold you in our hearts now and tomorrow.
