I’ve known Charlie for 37 years. He gave me my first programming job and I worked for him as a contractor for 10 years. He was a mentor and I credit him with teaching me everything I know about programming. He head a rough exterior but was one of the kindest and most generous people I’ve known. I got the chance to work with him again 18 years ago up until he retired. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

I had the opportunity to meet Charlie through my husband 15 years ago. My husband had known him now for 37 years. Such a blessing. Such a great friend to my husband. It was an honor meet and get to know Charlie. Charlie had a heart of gold. The biggest heart. Such a sweetheart and all around genuine person. He will definitely be missed. I’ll miss all the FB messages (recipes) he used to send me. Sending my deepest sympathy to the family. Hugs in heaven Charlie!

I worked with Charlie for a while and he sat very close to me before we all went remote. He was great fun. I’ll never forget when he sent a picture of himself dressed as the Pope. I ask if he would hear confession from me and Melissa. He robustly answered yes! Great guy I’m sure hes resting in peace.I worked with Charlie for a while and he sat very close to me before we all went remote. He was great fun. Charlie was always the first one to step up when somebody needed help. Such a giving and thoughtful man. Great talent and equally great humility. Charlie had the confidence to laugh at himself. He loved his children and grandchildren tremendously. As much as he shared about Leslie and Ashley, I feel like I know you both. Sending lots of prayers your way. It’s hard to believe that such a vibrant and memorable life is over. Have to look forward to the day we are all together again rejoicing in a better place.

Love this man! You always knew where you stood with him cause he was brutally honest with you but behind that he cared deeply about you as a person. He always supported and advised based on experience whether it was work related or personal. I very much appreciated him as a human being and knew he had faith. I am very sad that I can’t speak to him or text him but I will always hear him. My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends who felt this as well. A major loss hear on earth but huge gain in heaven. He was a great co-worker, employee and friend. We always enjoyed talking about music as well as he was very proud of his son, daughter and grandkids. God bless Charlie!! Love Steve

I met Charlie in high school, where we immediately became best friends- a friendship that lasted and remained current for a lifetime. We have so many memories-it is hard to believe he is gone. We texted and talked on a daily basis for as many years as i can remember. When my wife was killed in a car wreck, he was here within hours to try and help and comfort any way he could.
I love Charlie and a piece of my life was taken when he passed.

"If I could give 6 stars I would. Aria made a difficult easier to deal with by basically taking care of everything in an efficient but very empathetic manner. I can speak highly enough of Dusty Martin, who helped us with all of the planning and logistics. He was incredibly understanding and helpful."

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
