Obituary
Donnie Lynn Surratt, 73 of Dallas, TX, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 26, 2022 with his daughter, Casey, by his side. Donnie was born on July 10th, 1949 in Texarkana, AR. He was the proud owner of Texas Handgun Academy where he shared his love for teaching. Donnie never met a stranger and developed many long lasting, loving relationships. He loved to travel the world and often took his family and friends with him. He loved photography, music and collecting guns, paintings, and canes. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Surratt Sr. and Jessie Surratt, one brother, and one sister. He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, one son, three sisters, and seven grandchildren as well as a host of wonderful friends and extended family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Texas Handgun Academy where his many friends and family can share precious memories.
If you knew him, you know there will never be another Donnie.

My condolences to Donnie’s family as well as his many friends. Prayers that the Lord will comfort each of you during your time of mourning this tremendous loss and heavens gain.
I will never forget Donnie and the memories we made the relationship we built over the past 15 years.

Donnie was the one and only, I always remember his smile and his good sense of humor. I’ll always love my brother in law.
Donnie, a good friend, adventurer, and business associate. always cheerful and happy attitude, willing to offer help to anyone in need, offering to help others in their careers, he will be truly missed, however we know that Donnie is with the Lord where we will someday see him again.

I met Donnie over 20 yrs ago. We connected figuring out we had a lot of common interest. The rest is history as we became friends forever. I visited Donnie in the Philippines a couple of times as Donnie was a great hosts. We had some really good times thinks I will always remember!

I know Donnie on 2009, he helped me when i got the motor bike accident, he helped me even if he did not know me, he helped me without any *pay back* or so, i will forever grateful that i know him and thankful for the help he give to me. I am so sorry and shock, when i saw it now,what happend to him, we got no contact but he was in my heart. Donnie thank you very much and i wish you a wonderful journy in the new place where you are now, you will be forever in our heart. Rest in peace wonderful Man.
