Obituary
Elena Roumiantseva
Born June 27, 1966 in Rybinsk Russia, died April 25, 2023 in Dallas Texas.
After a courageous battle with cancer that started in 2017, Lena left this world to join another.
She did not broadcast her struggle, she did not want sympathy, or conversations about her. She did not want cancer to define her, to change who she was and who she was to others. Lena was always the prettiest girl in the room, the funny Russian girl, outgoing, warmest, most loving and honest person on the planet. If she was your friend, she was a TRUE friend with no hidden agendas. She gave 100% in everything she did, whether it was work or play. There were no shortcuts, she did everything to the very best of her abilities.
Lena moved from Russia to Brooklyn NY in the early 90’s. She had a Masters in Engineering and was a walking calculator. Beauty and brains – she had it all. She was a very talented computer programmer who worked on the most complicated platforms. Her incredible work ethic was paramount to her success. In 2001 we moved to Dallas Texas. She became a US citizen in 2003, something she was extremely proud of.
She leaves behind her loving husband Jim and her beautiful daughter Daria, and the “love of her life” Charlie (the very fat Persian cat), She also left behind my three kids back in NY Dana Frankie and Joey. The “other” loves of her life were Daria’s cats, Dexter and Fitz.
For now the song may be over. As her husband, I have this overwhelming feeling that someday, somewhere, in another place and time, we will be together again. I hope she waits for me. So until then…
