Eric Denis Favorite
Obituary
Eric Favorite of Grapevine Texas was called to Heaven and gained peace on Wednesday December 21 2022 at the age of 63.
Eric was born to Larry and Jocelyne Favorite in Portiere, France – January 19, 1959. When Eric was a toddler, The Favorites settled in the United States just outside Battle Creek Michigan. It was here he became a big brother to Christine , Barry, and Kathleen, a title he was proud to wear. Their sibling bond was special, strong throughout their lives and so important to the four of them. Eric’s youth was filled with adventure and excitement on his family’s farm. As he grew older his athletic prowess was on display gaining varsity letters in Wrestling, Baseball, and Football. Being a good son and a loving brother was a cornerstone of who Eric was, striving to make his family proud and never shying away from sharing how much he loved them.
Eric’s kindness and joyful nature was only matched by his work ethic. It was that work ethic and sense of adventure that took him to Dallas, Texas as a young man. Here in DFW, Eric met the love of his life, Evelyn. Eric would proudly recall the moment he first saw Evelyn, leaning to the person next to him proclaiming “I’m going to marry her.” Their story is one of strength, laughter, adventure, determination, love, and above all friendship. Among the many beautiful memories that color their lives together were slow dances and singing along to music in the living room, cross country road trips, creative and delicious culinary masterpieces, laughter while fishing, and cherishing the time with their family. Eric and Evelyn’s love was adorned with respect and admiration for each other, working tirelessly as a team to build a life together that they loved.
Their marriage of nearly 35 years was blessed with two daughters, Samantha and Alexandria. Sam and Alex were gifted with a father who spent quality time with them, teaching them, and loving them for who they both are. The girls had an amazing opportunity to work side by side with Eric at his restaurant, soaking up that work ethic and making cherished memories. From butterfly gardens to concerts, the love of sports and how to change a tire, Eric’s kind and patient nature opened the world for his daughters to appreciate and experience life to its fullest. In their eyes, Eric hung the moon and the stars. Eric’s son in law, Chase, was a wonderful addition to the family and brought him a friendship that he was always grateful for. They shared a love of sports and quick wit. Eric truly loved Chase as a son.
It’s hard to put into words how quickly and wholly his grand daughters Emma, Elle, and Emory captured his heart. Of all the roles that Eric was well suited for, Papa may have been his crown jewel. It was Papa that made Emma laugh for the first time. Papa and Ellie spent hours playing and strolling around together (no one put more miles on her stroller than Eric!); and it was Papa and Emory who’s belly laughs filled the room every time they were together. His granddaughters adored and loved him more than any words could do justice. Their special bonds will live on forever, shaping the women they become and always having his love with them.
Eric’s strength and determination to live every moment of his life with and for his family cannot be understated. His patience, kindness, and goodness are unmatched. When you reflect upon your memories of him, we know they are filled with his beaming smile, a pat on the back, a chuckle, and a warmth that will be missed.
Eric, Dad, Papa, we love you so much and will cherish every memory of you, until we meet again.
A celebration of life for Eric will be held in January.
In lieu of flowers please help us fulfill Eric’s wish to help families with sick children by considering a donation in his honor to Children’s Health.

Rest in peace My love.
You will be greatly missed! Love you. Rest easy! ❤️
Rest in peace my best and dearest friend. We first met in a dormitory on the campus of Western Michigan University where we forged a friendship that lasted for over 40 years. You followed me to Texas where we both met and married the loves of our lives, serving as each other’s Best Man. Life’s journey took you from Texas to Pennsylvania to Florida and back to Texas. I’ll never forget your phone call telling us you had moved back to Texas. We enjoyed celebrating our birthdays together, our annual trip to see a Rangers game, and other get-togethers. We will miss you forever.
Dad,
I am beyond lucky to be your daughter. Your wisdom, encouragement, and love for your family are engrained in ever fiber of my being. There aren’t enough words I could write in the world to share how much you are loved, believe me I’ve tried. I miss you more than you could ever know. I know you’ll be with me everyday.
I love you so so much.
Love always,
Sam

Eric, I didn’t really get to spend as much time with you as I would’ve liked to, but the time we did spend together was a great time. You were my brother-in-law, and we made some great memories. Those I will hold on to. You will be greatly missed, but will keep your memories alive!
Mike
Eric,
Please know how much you are loved and how much we miss you. I miss hearing your calm voice during our phone conversations. I miss laughing with you. I take solace and I find peace in my heart knowing you are with Dad and Danielle. I know Danielle will enjoy hearing your calm voice and I know you will always be an open ear to her overwhelming creativity as she reads to you her many poems, from which I know you will be asking her questions. I know you are on the pier fishing with Dad and Ron B., knowing you are just “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay” completely at peace.
Love and Peace To You My Brother.
Love,
Barry
I’ve waited to write anything because putting my thoughts into words is difficult. But I chose today to celebrate you. Today is Superbowl Sunday. I know you’re watching. I miss you and I have such wonderful memories to last me throughout the rest of my life. Thank you Eric for being such an amazing person. I am so lucky that you were my older brother. I am so lucky that I grew up watching football because of you and that I enjoy it every year. Today I will raise my glass to you and enjoy our sport that we embraced together. Love you, See you
