Kenny Grainger

Obituary

Kent Edward Grainger, recently of Oak Point, Texas, passed from this life to be with the Lord Jesus to Whom he had committed his life, at 10:13 am, on March 11th, 2022, at the age of 39. Kenny was born on May 28th, 1982 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to parents Edward and Bernadette Grainger. He spent his early childhood in San Antonio before moving to the Dallas area. Following his graduation from W. T. White High School in Dallas, TX, Kenny enrolled in Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX. He recently received his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Business Analytics from Grand Canyon University. He worked in IT Security and he was always working very hard to expand his knowledge and skills in order to better himself. He was very generous and helpful in sharing technical advice with co-workers, friends and family. Kenny was an outgoing person who had a heart of gold. He made friends easily where he lived and worked, and kept them over the years. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party!  He was very affectionate and easy to love.  He had a gift of making everyone he encountered feel special.  He was polite, well spoken, intelligent, funny, patient, and kind. Kenny was athletic and loved sports, especially basketball and football. He loved to track the status and progress of teams and players in the all types of sports. Kenny married the love of his life, Sarah Grainger, who truly adored him, on September 9th, 2020.  Kenny has two children, Malia Grainger, of McKinney, Texas, and Rhiannon Grainger, of Carrollton, Texas. Kenny and Sarah enjoyed spending time at the pool, going out and meeting new people, eating at new restaurants, comedy shows, dancing, music, & cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.  They were inseparable since meeting. Kenny is survived by his devoted wife Sarah Grainger, his parents, Edward and Bernadette Grainger, his brother, Brian Grainger, and sister-in-law, Cynthia Muñiz-Grainger; his daughters, Malia & Rhiannon Grainger, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many, many friends. He was so loved and will be sorely missed. His memorial service will be held at North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Ln, Dallas, TX 75234 on Friday, March 18th, 2022, @ 1:00 pm. There will be a gathering immediately after his service at the South Oak Subdivision Club House, 232 Savannah Lane, Oak Point, TX 75068.  (This might not pull up correctly.  If so, you can map to 301 Savannah Lane, Oak Point, TX. 75068, and the Club House will be directly across the street from there). All are welcome!  Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be served.  There will be music and plenty of time to celebrate the Kenny we all know and love. Let’s give him a great going home party! Kenny had a light about him. You two welcomed us and our grandkids into your lives and we have so many fond, wonderful, fun memories to keep in our hearts. The world will not be the same and we wish we had more time together. Our thoughts and love are with the family and all of the people that Kenny touched.

I was fortunate to meet the fireball known as Sarah first and then the heart of gold man, kenny, soon thereafter. Of course we immediately bonded because that’s what kindred souls do. The man brought sunshine with him wherever he went and life will never be the same without him. That’s what happens when a bigger than life personality moves on to the next plane in the spiritual universe. R.I.P. kind soul.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
