Marion Eugene Boyd “Gene”, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at OwenWood Community Garden in Garland, Texas where he worked as the Master Gardener. Born on July 5, 1955 in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Gene lived in Mississippi most of his life. He and his family moved to North Central Arkansas in 1996 and stayed there until 2008 when he and his wife Sharon moved to Irving, Texas. He remained in Irving until his passing. Gene was a beloved husband, father and Papaw to his family and a mentor, encourager and teacher to his friends. He is survived by his wife Sharon Boyd, two children: Jason Boyd and Amy Boyd, and three grandchildren: Liam, Arilyn, and Alec Boyd. Gene was a deep thinker but enjoyed a simple life. He loved touching the earth and gardening and had a real appreciation for nature. He loved building and crafting things from raw materials. He enjoyed writing and sharing his thoughts with his family and friends. Above all, Gene was a good and decent human being who left a legacy that will live on with all of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be missed dearly.
